SIHED is a project funded by the Office for Students but largely managed by the College of Podiatry. The project has been developed to improve recruitment into the Allied Health Professions, there are 15 health professions which includes podiatry.
Within the SIHED programme is an awareness and information campaign called I See The Difference (ISTD), directed at potential recruits to undergraduate training courses in the AHPs. This is the most high-profile part of the work. SIHED also supports a team of outreach officers who work across England; a challenge fund supporting innovative work on the delivery of courses at universities; and research on the student recruitment market.
