Independent practitioners in affected areas should only treat red and amber patients. Increased restrictions have been placed on residents in Leicester and the following outlying areas that touch the city's boundaries, including:

In Blaby District:
• Braunstone Town (including Fosse Park)
• Glenfield
• Glen Parva
• Leicester Forest East (East of the M1)
• Thorpe Astley
In Charnwood:
• Birstall
• Thurmaston
• All areas of Oadby and Wigston.
For this reason, the College is instructing members in these areas that they are to resort back to treating red and amber patients only.
