Steve Jamieson has announced that he has decided to step down from his position as Chief Executive and General Secretary of the Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod)
Steve Jamieson said:
“After five years at the helm of this great organisation, I feel it is time to step down and allow someone else to lead the RCPod and the profession through its next strategic period. It has been a real privilege to be the Chief Executive, and I am confident that the College will go from strength to strength.

“My legacy will always be achieving Royal College status. Not an easy thing to do, but we got there. I am also proud of the work we have done to modernise the governance of the organisation and improve our visibility across health and social care. We now have seats at all the top tables of decision-making in both health and trade union sectors. Our relationships with Health Education England and all four country Chief Allied Health Professional Officers are very strong, and we are recognised as a forward-thinking professional membership organisation and trade union.”

Michelle Scott, Chairman of RCPod Council, said:
“We are sad to see Steve leave us as he has done so much for the organisation and the profession of podiatry. Steve’s vision and leadership have enabled us to raise our profile across all sectors. His ability to develop a high-performing team that has successfully delivered numerous key projects is a real tribute to his commitment to his role. We wish him all the best in his next career move.”

Claire Angus, Director of Membership Services, Mark Sargeant, Director of Finance and Corporate Affairs and Paul Chadwick, Clinical Director will subsume the Chief Executive and General Secretary’s responsibilities in the immediate future.

An announcement regarding the next steps for recruitment into the role will follow.
